Joe Constant
Founder and director
Joe is the brains behind Kick Start. After 20 years in the corporate world, and lecturing at college, Joe set up Kick Start in 2006. Things have come a long way since his first day with just a phone and a desk. Joe has seen the organisation grow, and still works at ground level with the people that motivated him to set up Kick Start in the first place.
Judith Longstreth
Manager/Senior Consultant
Judith Longstreth has worked for most of her life as a specialist teacher working to raise the achievement of minority ethnic pupils. She is an experienced trainer in equalities issues in education, locally, regionally and occasionally nationally. In her most recent post she worked as the head of a consortium Ethnic Minority Achievement Service working across South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset and North Somerset.
Alison Cameron
Senior Consultant
Alison has worked in the field of minority ethnic attainment and English as an additional language for thirty years. Following overseas teaching posts in Turkey and Malaysia she returned to the UK and began to build up her skills as a trainer and school improvement adviser through various posts with Ethnic Minority Achievement teams in the South West of England and as National Strategies consultant for EAL.
Dot Lee
Consultant
Dot Lee has worked as a class teacher in London and Bristol, followed by teaching and consultancy work in the field of Ethnic Minority Achievement in Bristol and the surrounding area. This work includes working with school leaders on school improvement, training experience, and coaching teachers to develop inclusive practice in the classroom. She is a qualified and experienced Advanced Skills Teacher.
Bharti Joshi
Consultant
Bharti is a specialist teacher with over 20 years experience of raising the achievement, attainment and engagement of minority ethnic pupils, as well as 4 years as a school improvement adviser with South Gloucestershire Consortium. She has successfully worked with a wide-range of schools and settings across the South-West and Leicestershire to lead, innovate, implement and evaluate strategies and programmes. She is fluent in a number of South Asian languages including Gujarati, Hindi and Urdu. Bharti is passionate about giving every child the opportunity to realise their full potential.
Christiane Smith
Trainer
Christiane is a professional Career and Youth Coach. She works with young people at the start of their careers. She also supports individuals who are mid-career and looking for a career change as well as those coming up to retirement.
Ron Piper
Trainer
Ron is an Assistant Headteacher in an 11 to 18 Wiltshire comprehensive where he has a remit for teaching and learning and CPD. He is an ICF recognised NLP coach, NLP Master Practitioner, NLP trainer and youth coach. In recent years Ron has modelled the practice of outstanding teachers and shared his findings in workshop settings with a number of schools up and down the country and more recently at the National NLP Conference in London.
Deborah Doulia
Trainer
Deborah is a qualified teacher in Primary Education, specialising in music. She has a cross-curricular, creative approach to teaching, and believes that the most effective way of teaching children and young people is with a holistic view. It’s this belief that led to Deborah joining the Kick Start team, working with us to promote young people’s personal development, motivation and confidence.
Gail Rennolds
PA / Administrator
Gail has many years experience of working in the corporate world across global markets as well as SMEs, implementing and managing office systems and procedures and supporting businesses in areas including marketing, human resources and project management. With a qualification and background in childcare she has a keen interest in the education and wellbeing of all children and young people.
