Careers Advice

We offer students the careers advice they need to progress in life after school. We do this in partnership with Career Pilot. Click this link or download the app to find out more.

For students, parents, carers and trainers

Kick Start are registered Career Pilot trainers. We have access to all the resources available to give young people the advice and guidance they need to make informed decisions about what types of jobs and careers will suit them best.

We’ve provided a helpful summary below. There is also a very useful section for careers advisors which gives info on lesson plans, resources and time needed for tasks.

Who’s it for?

Career Pilot helps young people between 13 and 19.

What do you get?

Free, objective advice on qualifications, apprenticeships, volunteering and above all the choices that are available for young people at three key stages in their school and educational lives – at 14 years, at 16 years and at 18 years of age.

What’s the process?

Ask us anything about any career. “What qualifications do I need? How do I get a foot in the door? Is it best to study or get practical experience?”

Kick Start works with Career Pilot to provide young people with face to face advice on the many options open to them while they study and choose a career path.

What else is there?

One of the most useful sections is a live feed giving the latest apprenticeships available for young people in the south-west. Positions on offer vary from welding to banking and everything in between.
